She is the face we all see at the end.

Her beauty is indeed beyond compare, and her sadness and awe are the life that spills endlessly from and back to her. She appears to some as emerald and auburn, to others as gray and black, brown, pink, aqua, porcelain, khaki, purple, and countless other colors not yet visible to the living. Her kindness is expressed through fascination tinted with compassion. She intends no harm.

These works are part of my series of mostly large scale paintings called “Psychopomps, gods and arcana”. These are a series of acrylic paintings depicting neo-pagan gods that are concocted from personal, unconscious symbolism. To access this subconscious well, I incorporate chance-based techniques into the design, such as automatic drawing and a randomized system of coloration, determined with dice rolls.

The original work is acrylic on canvas.
